Hi everyone, I have the above DVD player and its getting a bit old now.
Some formats do not work on it so I have to use my old trio player.
Does any one know of a firmware update for this model?
Also is there a better model with more support i should be looking at?
I have a look at some of the reviews but had not made a definitive decision yet.
Any help appreciated.

Rather than a dvd player I have been looking at one of these as well.
This seeems to be really smick and easy to use, not sure about the play back compatibility but it should be just like a PC.

You could look at the firmware updates produced by FallenAngel and xypro over on the DivXpert forums (http://board.softpedia.com/index.php?showforum=24) on Softpedia. These are applicable to just about any DivX capable LG 9000 series player.
BTW, it would be interesting to know what formats don't work on your LG but play on your Trio - the LGs are generally regarded as supporting as many flavours of DivX/XviD as any other MediaTek based player.
Cheers,
BAC
