is "comfortably" some kind of SAE unit of measurement?
would it be a coincidence that Fairfax media group is receiving a sh1tload
of Toyota advertising dollars?

If you can score a 300c test go for it , I just did and frankly I cant
afford it atm cant justify it but I WANT :)
damn they are cool and only have a couple of weak spots ( like low
down torque isn't good under 3k or so) your v8 would stamp it low down.

I am looking forward on testing the wagon which looks bees knees to me.
But yeah a 300c test drive is on the list sadly I missed a batch of SRT-8
300C's which I really want.

Along with a sh1tload of Ford and GM advertising dollars, you mean.
Some plausibility in your conspiracy theories would be nice...

I guess but it would be a good problem if I do sign the dotted line to order
one. :-)
Actually for a toy I would not mind a Dodge Ram SRT-10 now that would be
something to drive it might be useless to haul heavy junk but it would be
something out of the ordinary.

I knew it I am a closet mopar fan!

I will post a review and experience later in the evening , might offer
some indication , I did find the new motor very different to the 360 I
ran in the VE vip , torque and power "come on" much higher in the band
and around town it makes the car slightly less "comfortable" off the
line ( its still fsking powerful)
I would think with a little tuning the motor would have sufficient
torque to do the job though
Some $ spent on the yankee style suspension would get it closer to the
falcadore handling packages.

I remember reviews when the Avalon first came out. They dismissed that it
was front drive and therefore undesirable to the many people who use their
large car for towing, and rated it a better car.

Never sold.

Never worried me. :-)

I tow with mine. :-)

It's a great car. :-)

I never hear people that own them complain about them. :-)

Then again, when you reach a mature age, you're easily
pleased. :-P

Well, both of them live a fair way from you, so that's quite understandable.

Notice the power to weight of the Aurion helps its performance, but there's
always the FWDrive vs Rear, which Holden are pushing in its latest advert.
Its one of those things ie would you prefer to tow your boat with FWD?, plus
many amongst the Ford vs Holden crowd would see the Aurion as a
non-contender. It'll be interesting, but cracking the Big 2 mould of
dedication will take more than the Aurion I suspect:

Is the Aurion a FWD? Because if it is, 200kW is an awful lot to be
pumping through wheels expected to drive the car and turn it.

I wonder what happens when you corner fast, or plant it ala power
oversteer.
I suspect when wet (if no traction control) then you'd understeer quite
badly.
Will probably be a treat to watch, just as long as they don't hit me.

How many times have we seen a turb'd ricer fwd go around a wet corner
with the wheel at full lock on boost in a straight line?
What about some of those old yank V8 fwds - a disaster waiting to
happen...

a well designed chassis in the right hands can corner very well with
that much power
but they do suffer from bad initial understeer if you try to power out
too quickly, the "it goes where the wheels are pointing" is not always
correct especially when the wheels are spinning

On some slipways and ramps FWD is handy when retrieving. Of
course 4WD/AWD or V8/Turbo would be optimal.

They are an unashamedly big car with big performance,...nothing wrong with
that :-)
