well mates i had a good deal negotiated with the local crim, i mean dealer,
had an offer to buy new 1.6L/3-door/Manual Getz with Towbar, Tint, Fog
Lights and Metallic Paint for 13.9 drive away ... but the Mrs. got hold of
the safety report and would not let me buy it ... the dealer was very
disappointed in me ... i missed a good deal but perhaps saved my kids lives
in case of accident ... trade offs, trade offs.

Thatll teach ya for letting the Missus use the PC. What ya gunna buy now?
Well, if its safety shes after a Subaru or Mazda 6 both rate very well.
Havnt read which small car rates well though. For $13900 I doubt any small
car will fair well in safety testing. Good luck.

Um, when someone accidentally crashes into you, its not 'planned'...

Did you consider the safety pack for the Getz? ESP, ABS, a plethora of
airbags. Makes more sense to me than optioning alloys on a Getz. Less
than $2K extra, IIRC.

Well that fucks that
just go buy a Landcruiser
even DavZs pissweak Honda is no match for one of those

Trade offs, indeed. If you want perfect safety either go for a
Landcruiser, which is like a tank, or get any Subaru. But these are
much more expensive than the simple Getz. With the money you waste
buying these you may have invested more in your children's health and
education and that extra money invested in their health and education
could save their lives. Imagine your child just missing out on a place
in Melbourne Uni or your child growing obese because of the type of
food you have to buy him or her because you're trying to save money.
Trade offs.
Anyway, a Toyota Yaris has 5-star safety according to Euro NCAP.

AMEN
What i told him all along, "cheap" is not good, "quality" and
value_for_money is.
Yaris is about the best small car on the [Australia] market, with a bit
of money for the German Fiesta
I would spend even up to $4k more for the Yaris over the Getz, you will
pick it up at trade in time anyway, its better and safer to boot
The Suzuki and Mazda2 should be on the hit list too, but why bother
just get the Yaris and be done

Just because you have kids doesn't mean you have to sign your own life away.
It's a question of balance.

No, when you have kids you have to immediately die so they can eat you, like
a spider.
Where's Pat got to?!
