does any have or know anything about

the telefunken - TDV4360 dvd player.

it has HDMI and was wondering if that

means it can convert dvd's into 720p/1080i

As a general rule if it has HDMI it also upscales, Telefunken are a bit hit and miss though, the number one goal of the importer of these products is to have the maximum amount of features at the lowest possible price, quality and performance are secondary considerations, you might be lucky, sometimes they have some reasonable models. I wouldn't consider them unless it was extremely cheap.
