The CR-V has made it onto the top 20 best seller list in 2006 for the first
time, narrowly beating the Ford Mustang! Despite being 5 years old (versus
Ford's barely 2 year old Mustang), CR-V had its *best* sales year ever in
the USA since its launch in 1997. It also completely obliterated other
Japanese opponents such as the RAV4 (even with its optional 3.5L V6). Well
done Honda! =)

I forgot to mention it also beat the Ford Escape (which is usually number
1), to become the top selling small SUV in the US.

I hear the CRV also beat the Mustang in sales here, and also in Japan.
It's really on a winning streak...

It sure is. It was also the best-selling 4x4/SUV in the UK in 2006.

I have the new CRV Sport and I am very satisfied with it. I would have
thought though the Sport model would come with the more powerful 140kw Euro
engine.

No, the 140 kW Euro engine (which has identical torque figures to the CR-V
engine) is tuned more to deliver torque at higher RPMs. The CR-V engine is
much better and feels more powerful as the torque is delivered at lower
rpms.
