I have an old TV (can't remember when I got it.. atleast 5-7 years old) and it does have the AV ports that it needs for my DVD player, but when I try to tune into it, it can't find it.
I have a smaller TV in my bedroom and it works fine with that, because it have an AV channel, but on the big TV in the loungeroom, there's either no AV channel, or I'm unable to get to it with my Universal Remote (the original remote was lost about a year after I got the TV)

If it helps any, the TV and an AKAI CT-2167AT and the DVD player is a Digitrex GK-1020.

If only I could get rid of Macrovision, wouldn't be having a problem.

Kahlazar,

Did you have any luck with the TV?

I have just encountered the same problem with the same model Akai TV only with a Kenwood DVD that a friend has just bought.

Have tried 2 types of universal remote controls but neither will allow you to select the AV input on the Akai.

silly question, but wouldn't the TV have an actual tv/av button on it somewhere ?

My friend gave up and bought another TV today. I said I'd buy the Akai off them as a second set as I don't need to hook up a DVD to it.

I'll check the Up/Down option tomorrow when I pick it up.

Doesn't work. I've tried it more times than I can count, going all the way through the channels.
I'll just have to hope someone finds a way to turn off Macrovision on my model of DVD soon.
