Is it worth paying extra for a HD set top box if i i'm using a normal 80cm TV? Concidering my TV type should i just buy a standard definition digital set top box rather than HD?

Are normal TV's even capable of displaying HD content?

If your TV does progressive scan then you can do 576p with a HD box, SD box will only get you 576i, you can also get DD 5.1 (when transmitted) if you have an amp with suitable decoder, if you don't fall into either of these two catagories then there is no benefit to be had with your current TV
