Recomendations for DVD/VHS/DivX player?

Hi, I'm looking for a DVD/VHS/DivX player for my parents, and I was hoping to get some recomendations from the people here :).

The features they need are:
- VHS playback/record and scheduled recording.
- DVD playback, recording not necessary.
- REGION FREE! (preferably without voiding warranty) My brother was in england for a year and has heaps of region 2 DVDs that they want to watch but are just gathering dust here in Australia because some **** invented region... (much ranting on the subject cut out ;) )
- DivX/XviD/Mpeg4 playback
- Around $150-$250 and preferably brand

Any suggestions?

LG used to have a fairly good DVD/DivX/VHS unit, not sure if they still do it, but was Mediatek chip based and supposed to be reasonably good.
