Just sent my daughter an MMS. She retrieved the message but got a note
with it saying that she had to retrieve it from the server or similar.
It didn't come with the message.

This also happened yesterday which she forgot to tell me about. However,
because she didn't retrieve it immediately, some time later (I don't
know how long) when she did go to get it, she got a message sayin that
it had expired and was no longer available.

Anyway, today's test had her in a non-3G area (Pakenham, 45min east of
MEL). I'll wait til she gets home when she's back in 3G coverage and
will try again.

She's saving all the failed messages and if necessary will take photos
of the phone's display with them up for Telstra to chase this up on.

She's set up as a legacy MMS customer.

I received an MMS from a Voda customer once, replies with an MMS, then 5
minutes later the same Voda customer sent me a MMS reply, however I had to
go to the Voda website to retrieve it.

MMS is a buggy technology that is about 3 years behind where SMS currently
is. I don't see it improving until the costs drop and more people get
interested (and SPs are allowed to connect to carrier MMSCs).

Um, not sure I understand. She's with "3". I'm with Telstra NextG. How
can Telstra help here?
