destined to become a leader of white christian capitalist australian
politics , its amazing to see him now looking after our water , for
his american mates , and the aboriginal peoples of australia sure will
be glad to see how well he looks after the poverty sticken solomons
islands

HE supports taxpayers sending in the australian ARMY to keep the
starving native in line till they die out

GOD HELP AUSTRALIA

Its no wonder Australians prefer to watch football and racing cars go
round and round

Its just too depresing to ever look reality in the face

Australians prefer to be raped quietly to hide their shame

What did MT do wrong?
he took over a very badly managed company reorganised it & could get a huge
profit of it.

This proves clearly far beyond leftish rubbish rhetoric's that there is gold
in the Solomon.

Remember Bougainville copper. This is a very rich mine that cannot be
developed because of local stupidity.

The locals should work a bit harder to develop their own resources rather
than fighting between each
and begging other countries for aid.

I hope that MT can do the same with Australian water.
Actually the leftish state governments are doing next to nothing positive
about it except trying to save drops..

Turnbull defends logging company role

The Liberal candidate for the Sydney seat of Wentworth, Malcolm
Turnbull, defended his connection to a logging company whose forestry
practices in the Solomon Islands were described as among the worst in
the world.

Mr Turnbull, who has been campaigning on his green credentials
including ending old-growth forest logging in Tasmania, said his
involvement was as a corporate fixer for logging interests in the
Solomons.

ABC radio said Mr Turnbull owned shares in and was chairman of the
Hong Kong-listed Axiom Forest Resources, which owned and operated
logging concerns in islands.

He said he was not aware some of the subsidiaries were involved in
what was described as some of the worst logging practices in the
world.

"I'm not aware of that. I'm aware of the company having a number of
logging companies which had difficulties when they were acquired," he
told the ABC.

"You have to remember they were bought by Axiom in order to clean up
the mess.

"The vision of the founders of Axiom, of which I was not one, was to
acquire these logging companies and then restructure them and sort of
re-position them so that they became sustainable operations.

"My only involvement with the company was as a corporate doctor."

Mr Turnbull said he visited the Solomons and met government officials.

"I was certainly aware of the criticism of logging practices in the
Solomons and I was as concerned about them then as the founders were,"
he said.

"You've got to understand the whole purpose for indigenous people in
the Solomons and other Melanesian countries getting involved in this
project was to stop this, these practices."

The ABC said a report by the forebear of AusAid described the
operations of the Axiom subsidiary Sylvania Forest Products as being
more like clear-felling and bearing little relation to an attempt at
retaining even a token sample of a future commercial crop.

Another report described Sylvania's forest practices as among the
worst in the world.

Solomon Islands Development Trust adviser John Rowan said logging in
the 1980s and 1990s led to social problems in the country's western
islands, as well as lasting environmental damage.

"Especially (in) those islands in the west, where there is some
magnificent coral reef protection for these islands, the run-off was
devastating," he said.

"It silted up these lagoon areas, killed off much coral and sea life."

No need to worry , Australian TAXPAYERS will pay to send in the ARMY
to keep the natives from ever getting back control of their forrests

AND Australian police will help ARREST anybody who dares QUESTION
turnbulls right to cut down every tree on ALL solomons ISLANDS FOR ALL
TIME

That makes Australian taxpayers accomplances or IDIOTS
