I don't know of anything that uses Scart these days, anyway ...

That's exactly what I do ...
The last system I designed was $3.5M.
Still don't come across them much at all.
I note that Scart adapters always come with our VC gear, but our monitors
are all DVI and moving to HDMI.

A lot of Euro boxes use scart as well , some of them not std so require
an adapter
