A reasonable performer, uses an MTK chipset which is perhaps the best all rounder in the market, good value at that price (they retail at $65) not sure what their postage costs are but should still come in at under retail price, not sure what their policy is for warranty though.

Don't want to look like an advert for them .. but $8 postage and DOA stuff and warranty is through them and it's reply paid .. know this from previous experiences .. is it the same as a dvx model? .. is that why the DVX in the model name?

Model number is a coincidence, not related to DVX in any way, the Highlander comes from a different factory

Probably the same piece of crap they issued 15 months ago but with a face lift.

I bought 2 of these...one didnt work the first time I used it (disc tray wouldn't stay closed). The other one had a life of 13 months.

While they do play most divx files with good audio and video, they are not comparable to quality of pioneer divx dvd player for around $130. The remote control will give you the Sh*ts after a while.

I can only hope that they have improved the model since the last issue and they got rid of the blue light on the front panel.

Previous forum on the old model below.

The old one was a Sunplus chipset, was from a different factory also, only similarity to the previous model is the brand name, nothing else.

Not too bad a deal now, I was about to post that Dealsdirect had the player for $39.95 pp, plus $9.95 postage, but that's no longer the best price. :)
