Hi all,

My Father has asked me to ask a question in regards to what antenna he
should get for his motor home?

He doesn't want to have a raisable winguard model that has a pole in the
centre of the motorhome but he is after one that is garranteed to work
in Australian condititions especially in Far North Queensland.

I did a quick search on the net and came across Saturn Antennas made in
Queensland and was wondering if anyone had used this antenna with
sucess?

Any other suggestion apart from going to a Satellite type System?

Regards
Hidiho

Whooops, I neglected to mention that he needs an antenna for receiving
normal television stations on a normal PAL TV.

**No one will ever provide such a guarantee. You're asking way too much.

Just go buy the largest fta stick you can find that will still fold up
with in the confines of the vehicle , there are no warranty with the
install you propose as the problem wont be the hardware but the person
running it all.

theres a small flat (kinda like a biplane standing on its end) UHF thats
great for picking up FM and VHF. Not sure where ther are available but try
National Antennas in New Farm.

There's no ongoing charge for free to air sat. Optus card is a once
only $40 or thereabouts.

Won't work in heavy rain, or when the sun's behind the satellite.

Hmm far North Qld, so the rain effects, what, about 0.02% of viewing time
and the sun, well cant help that one.

Most good tellies on at night anyway so Sun shouldnt bother it :O)

If the rains a problem, get a bigger dish
I have a 2.4m solid on my 6x4 trailer,it would be sure to stabilize the
signal.
Teli can be pretty important when on the move.

**There are all manner of antennae suitable for mobile operation. NONE of
the manufacturers will provide a guarantee as demanded by the OP.
