View Full Version : The Holden ad with the young kid driving

I think this is the most disgusting ad on TV at the moment.
This is teaching young kids it is alright to get in the drivers seat
of a vehicle and fiddle with the controls.
At the moment there are 2 children killed every 3 months from single
vehicle accidents where they have climbed into the drivers seat and
knocked the park brake or knocked it out of gear.
This ad needs to be removed from our screens right away and Holden
issued a hefty fine for stupidity.
Why not have a cigarette ad with a 1 year old having a horry.

Why should Holden pay for a Hyundai Santa Fe ad?
You need to be issued a hefty fine for your stupidity.

Yep Its a bad problem showing that.
Looks cute but kids get easily misled. The others obviously havent a
clue how kids copy each other, and TV ads.
Its like all the other situations. They say "it doesn't affect me so
rack of" Not a thinking attitude.
They got what they wanted though. Publicity. Unfortunately for them I
cant remember the brand of car. Even if I could, I would NOT buy it on
principle.

Yeah thats the problem.
The cute kid gets all the attention.
The car doesnt.
That is misleading advertising more ways than one.

If he's really referring to the Hyundai add with the kids in nappies
taking the car to the beach for a spot of surfing, then it's already
been banned.

As I kid I used to play in every vehicle possible,my favorites was drag
lines or shovel as they are commonly known that had the two steering
wheels, most had one steering wheel(actually not a steering wheel)one big
and one small on each side.
These were cool machines.
Next favorite was trucks, did not matter what they were, any truck
goes,the older the better.
The next best were old mining jigs, made from half a car a truck a
tractor and a washing machine, these were interesting things to play
on,some two stories high, lots of leavers and buttons that did not work
and many were always seized.
Next best were old abandoned wrecks,Holden FJ's and FE's and those
really early falcons, falcons were better cause they were more
posh,better seats.
Some of these are early holdens and fords are still sitting there,20
years later, must have been there 20 years before me too.
One that took hours of fun was an A or T model Ford ute type thing which
had a winch fitted to it,I recall someone gave us $2000 for it rusted
out as it was, engine never went as far as I ever knew.

Fuck.
It is a stupid, stupid world we live in if anyone thinks that ad
should be banned.
But at least I can still (as an 18YO red P-plater, having just been
taught how to do a hill-start and a reverse park) drive a clapped-out
6 cyl. POS at night in the rain on an unlit highway......
It is a stupid, stupid fucking world.

HEY Dip Shit, (the real one)
We knew that.
He's yanking your bicycle chain.
Besides a cute 18 month little kid has put mum in hospital, yesterday,
trying to help mum. Breaking her pelvis and throwing it into first gear.
Next week he wants to try a bus...
I think they drive real cute.

If you believe that's what actually happened.
Personally, I think it would take some special 18 month old kid who could
start the engine and pull the transmission out of park in the time it took
for mum not to notice and get run over.
More like the mum fucked up and let the car roll down the driveway, and
blamed the kid for it :)

The car was a manual. The kid just bumped it out of gear and the car
started rolling.

Sounds like she didn't have the handbrake engaged (or it wasn't working)
so you can't really blame the kid for it.

The brat had obviously been watching the ad where the cute innocent looking kid
gets hold of the garage remote whilst in the car and bangs the doors down on the
bonnet - THIS AD MUST BE BANNED IMMEDIATELY TO STOP THE SAME THING HAPPENING
AGAIN !
