Does Pioneer dv355 play RCE discs?

Was looking to buy a new dvd player.

Have a lot of US dvd's and currently have a Akai DVP2000 player which is great cause I can manually change the regions (allowing it to play RCE dvd's) however does not play CDR's etc due to it's age.

Interested in purchasing Pioneer DV355 for it's multi-region capability & price, however was led to believe players that automatically change the region code when you insert the disc, cannot play RCE dvd's.

Is this the case with this particular player or can you manually change the regions/settings?

Any help/advice would be fantastic.

Why would you want to buy any RCE DVDs anyway? They're always crap movies like the Patriot anyway! I don't see how this is really an issue. RCE is becoming LESS common, not more, so unless you're desperate to own one of the RCE movies, don't stress about it.
