Sony DAV-S550 AV system

Hello,

I've got a Sony DAV-S550 speaker system and want to connect this
through a Panasonic DVD player (DVDS35). The connections for the Sony
speaker system are not compatible with my DVD player.

Does anyone know if I can get some sort of converter to make these
compatible??

it doesn't look like the DVD player you have, has an amplifier so you need
to run one for the speakers to work.

I will check the specs of the DAVS550 now - can't help thinking that was a
self-amplified speaker set but will look

is the DVD player amplified....and if so, what is the ohms rating of the
output, compared to the ohms rating of the speakers.

Okay, so I have seen the basic specs of both player and amp/speaker setup -
I guess you're asking this question because SONY has stuck proprietary plugs
on the back of their DVD player?

Without knowing what in's and out's each has, I can't advise but I would go
to SONY and ask - it would save time
