Interviewer: What kind of a system is 'Dynamic Mission'?
Izaki: It is to scale up the battle of majority vs majority even more.
To think, what takes place on the real battlefield is not a minority
vs minority battle. And if a certain squadron carries out an operation
successfully, then it will turn the tide of battle, and vice versa.
That's what Dynamic Mission is about.
Ichiyanagi: There are multiple operations going on simultaneously
within one mission where each squadron goes for its own target.
Players can choose which squadron to join in real time. And if the
player successfully completes one operation, then he/she can move on
to join another squadron to carry out another operation. The player's
choice of operation, its success or its failure will immediately
affect the other operations and squadrons. At most 6 operaions develop
simultaneously.
Iza: You don't necessarily have to all operations of Dynamic Missions.
It depends on the situation how many operations should be carried out.
Those who are new to the series can choose easy ones. The game is
pretty optional in this regard.
Ich: Which squadron to side with and which operation to participate in
at which point of time changes the development of the battlefield.
Talk about replay value!
Int: What is 'Support Request'?
Iza: The allies are comprised of multiple squadrons, and each of them
takes part in different operations separately. If the player joins an
operation to take on a massive enemy squadron, it'll be tough to shoot
them all down one by one, won't it? If you request support in such an
occasion, then you can amass your allies which are fighting in
different quarters of the battlefield and concentrate their firepower
on your target. This way you can match the enemy outnumbering you.
It's not just from allied air squadrons but also from the AA guns of
the friendly ground force and long range attacks by friendly warships.
Please be looking forward to the showdown of overwhelming firepower
crisscrossing the skies!
Int: What kind of online play features are there?
Iza: Battle royal, of course. There is a team vs team mode under
various rules too. Players can also join up and cooperate with each
other to deal with a powerful enemy.
Ich: There is no doubt that Player vs Player will be exciting. But I'm
personally starting to think that a coop mode will be more important
and more common from this point forward. It is a key to win to keep
your information secret in the vs mode, while sharing information is a
key in the coop mode. And that's where it's at for online videogamers,
I guess.
