How to get avi/idx/sub files to work

Hi all,

How does one get idx/sub files in a standalone DVD player. I have the avi running but can't get the subtitles up. Anyone have any pointers on burning tips or? I believe I have the Mediatek MT1389DE chip in ti.

depends on the player but as a general rule the file you want to play and the subtitle file need to have matching file names and be in the same directory, been mentioned many times before on the forums

Thanks. I did a search but nothing of relevance came up. Probably help if I tried a few different search terms though.

The .idx file is the same name but the .sub isn't. Should they all be the same? Will rename all the same and burn if needed.

I answered my own question. Rename ALL files and it works.
