I have a DVD player connected to my LCD flat panel via HDMI. My choice of output resolution from the player is
1. 576p/480p
2. 720p
3. 1080i
First question, it looks like option 1 is just using native DVD res with no scaling, and the other 2 are the upscaling options. Is that right?
Secondly, given that none of these match the native resolution of the panel (1366x768p), I wonder if my best option isn't to set the DVD to option 1. The reason I am thinking this, is that with both option 2 and 3, the DVD will do an upscale conversion, then the TV will do another. With option 1 however, the DVD just outputs what it reads from the DVD and only one scaling conversion will be done (by the TV) which might result in a better picture. Opinions?
