I have a Compaq Impresario's PC (don't laugh, it's temporary), that now
thanks to the HP guru's is having major IE problems. I followed their
wonderful direction at the HP website as directed and now do not have any
directories for IE on my computer. After 4hours on the phone w/HP tech
support yesterday, I still do not have IE installed. I did manage to get
Mozilla just to be able to get here. How do I get the directories back on
here? As we all know, Compaq/HP did not think it necessary to pass along any
cd's with new PC's. I did make recovery cd's when first installed, but of
course, their at absolutely no good to me without IE; or at least I am
assuming because the files will not open.

Click Start >. Control panel >> Add/Remove programs then click on Add and
remove Windows components.
There make sure the Internet explorer check box is checked you may need to
insert your CD.
Reboot your computer and see if IE came back on your All programs start menu.
If the above didn't work try to open a run command and type in:
iexplre.exe click [OK] what you get, please report back with the exact
wording on the window.
HTH.
Let us know.
