Hi Iam currently looking at buying a Intel Core 2 Duo, these are the basic Specifications :

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6300, LGA775 Pkg 1.86GHz 2MB L2 Cache
1066Mhz FSB 65nm Conroe core
Intel Mainboard - D946GZISSL, Core2 Duo, Intel GMA3000 VGA, DDR2,
HD Audio, 10/100 LAN, 8xUSB, 4x SATA,
2GB - DDR2-667 - Lemel/Veritech RAM
160GB - SATA-II - Western Digital Hard Drive - 16MB Cache Raid
Recovery, 7200rpm [WD1600YS]
250GB - SATA-II - Seagate Hard Drive - 16MB, 7200rpm NCQ
[ST3250620AS]

It will be for Windows XP professional, is it worth the extra money and would the difference be noticeable to upgrade as below:

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6300, LGA775 Pkg 1.86GHz 2MB L2 Cache
1066Mhz FSB 65nm Conroe core For Use with Intel 965 & Above

Upgrade to

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6320, LGA775 Pkg 1.86GHz 4MB L2 Cache
1066Mhz FSB 65nm Conroe core extra $12

Upgrade to

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6400, LGA775 Pkg 2.13GHz 2MB L2 Cache
1066Mhz FSB 65nm Conroe core extra $60

Same details except : 1.86GHz 2MB, or 1.86GHz 4MB or 2.13GHz 2MB

Performance wise, How dose 2.13GHz 2MB compare to 1.86GHz 4MB

Thanks Alan

Thanks AlanPersonally, I'd go for the one with the larger L2 Cache memory. i.e. the 1.86Ghz with 4MB L2. The L2 memory helps the processor speed out in the same way more system RAM would. I have the E6600 in one of my PC's and it's brilliant (2.4Ghz, 4Mb L2) :)
