If you're talking about "Grindhouse", Greater Union has it showing on
Thursday, 10 May 2007, but there are other source, like au.Yahoo, that say
it's released on the 31st May 2007.

the 2 movies were only a nostalgic return to the twin movie night at the
drive in, with b-grade schlock-horror. hence the "grindhouse".

my folks couldn't afford a babysitter when I was young, so I always tagged
along with them to the drive in, I still remember some of the movies, like a
lizard alien dieing in a crash, but a driving by spectator discovers the
crash and takes the ray-gun and pendant. after wearing the pendant the guy
slowly turns into a lizard alien himself, and goes on a killing spree.

this was the second movie after the original Star Wars that night in 1977.
sometimes some of the shitfull b-grade movies stick around. personally I
wish the lizard alien movie got popular instead.

The Americans who made it or the Americans who didn't like it?

My point of course being, that the 'nostaligia' which you referred to in
your previous post, seems to be at odds with both reality, and my post
describing how worthless such a venture would be.

"You're not going to enjoy this, and it won't be quick"

Very apt quote from "300", I didn't and it wasn't.

Yeah, apparently they're so stupid a lot of them were walking out after the
first flick:

Grindhouse' Patrons Not Getting Money's Worth
10 April 2007 (StudioBriefing)
Some moviegoers who bought tickets to see the Robert Rodriguez/Quentin
Tarantino "double bill" Grindhouse were apparently unaware that the feature
comprised two separate movies -- and walked out after the first one,
Rodriguez's Planet Terror, ended, published reports said today (Tuesday). "I
don't think people understood what we were doing," Weinstein told today's
New York Post. "The audience didn't get the idea that it is two movies for
the price of one." The walk-outs could offer another partial explanation for
the film's disappointing performance at the box-office.

Weinstein also said that they'll probably re-release the films
individually...personally, I can't wait for it to come out here. Unless
things change 10 May is the release date...
