okano and Soniq are they the same?

I bought a Okano stb1000 set top box some months back from JB hifi for $44 and it works fine. Then last week I bought a Soniq Qmd200 set top box for $68 (no Okanos left). I found it was the same size and looked similar with an identical remote.
The Okano remote even woked on the Soniq. When I turned it on it had the same menus as the Okano.
Is this the same machine rebadged.
