Please help.
I have an original xbox and for three months now I have been struggling to find a working router.
1st Netgear. Connection was made then 10 min. into a game of Halo 2 it would boot me and start trouble shooter.
I spent the next month configuring the router with Netgear tech support before they gave up on me and referred me to xbox forums. Netgears Superior support?????
Next a Linksys Wrt61? Same problem. Then Linksys BEFSR41. Same thing.
As per Linksys techs advice I bought Model #WRT54GS. This router has given me the longest lasting connection but still I get booted from gameplay.
I have opened the required ports, tried using DMZ, set static DNS, used Qos, used old and updated firmware.????????
This is now my 4th router with the same results. Could a virus on my pc cause this? Or maybe dowloads for windows and virus protection updates?
Please help, desperate.
