Hi Im wondering if anybody can help me. I've recently moved into a house and i've noticed that the TV aerial connection from the wall is a very old sytle aerial. Can anybody advise me how i can hook it up to my TV or DVD Recorder or HD Set Top Box

It looks something like this

It looks like the type of cable that you'd connect to an old style stereo speakers.

Any idea what i need to convert it to my co-axial connetion on my tv?

G'day nmack. :)
It's been years since I used somethig like this, but I'm pretty sure stores like Dick Smith stock the connectors that screw the ribbon in one end and have a modern coaxial connector on the other. I *think* they are called baluns.

Feel free to correct me if anyone has a better idea. :)

Yep, go to www.dse.com.au and type L4456 into the search box at the top.
That is what you want.
Hopefully the aerial is still ok, it is a fairly old connection type, so the aerial might be a bit old as well.
