View Full Version : XP Home - - NOT . . . Windows Vista Home Premium

Well . . . it has surely been interesting reading all the bully fighting
that ensued following my initial post. Regardless, I just ordered two (2)
new PC's and they are both absent of Windows Vista (any version).

After spending around 20 hours reading all the posts regarding partitioning
and other Vista maladies at the MS Vista newsgroup website, I decided to put
Vista on hold for a couple of years before making the jump. Till then, XP
Home is my new PC's O/S of choice.

Regarding Acronis Director Suite 10, it was truly difficult getting Acronis
to fully answer questions that are not clearly addressed or mentioned in
their FAQ's. One answer included Acronis' Yuri Sotnikov stating that I
would "...be able to convert your Windows Vista Operating System from FAT32
to NTFS file system, but not vice versa."

Receiving pre-sales support from Acronis via email (where I would expect
them to be fully accountable for what they state) is extremely difficult and
the results were mediocre at best. It took seven (7) emails sent via their
website to get complete answers to three (3) simple questions, and they
never fully answered the 3rd. It should not be difficult to imagine that
Acronis will not receive any business from me.

Well, I have a few other thoughts, but I do not want to leave the door open
too wide for those who may berate me as they do others.

Thanks to all of you whose generosity directed me to resolve issues
associated with my initial posting.

Regards,

Grant

Go to the Acronis User Forums for help. Get the real deal from the
people who use the program. Enjoy your new PCs.
