It's just a pity that it was the start of the Mitsubishy Ugly
and it's gotten worse
at least it has drive to the rear wheels as well
BTW I don't think there are many people here who say they are not a good
reliable car, they are just fucking ugly, FWD and way overstated by a
few loonies inhabiting this place

Yeah, I can understand that many would find them ugly and I'll admit I was
one of those in the beginning, but for some reason, it kinda grew on me.
It was a very bold design based on a Euro look that I think was over
designed and consequently, the guy who designed it was sacked from
Mitsubishi.
I think however, if the car is not a stock standard front drive ES but one
of the optioned up models like mine with spoked mags and being AWD (for some
reason they look a bit classier than the standard ES, LS decals on the rear
and side guards) and with the darker tinted windows, it kinda distracts a
bit from the frontal ugliness.
Actually from some angles it doesn't look so bad at the front, just needs to
become accustomed to it but I do understand people being against it but I
have seen a lot uglier cars than the TL/TW design. In fact I might even go
as far as to say the TL/TW Magna front has more character than the current
380 which is a bit plain I feel as they tried to tone it down a bit.

Pretty much it in a nutshell right there.

Kinda like severe facial burns.
If you're stuck with the scars, you kinda have to put up with looking at it
in the mirror each day.

The amazingly ridiculous part about all that, apart from the fact that
everyone blamed him at the time, was that *no one* in authority at
Mitsubishi stood back and looked at the proposals and said "Jesus that's
fucking ugly".
I cannot for the life of me believe that someone in charge of a car company
(well, Mitsubishi Australia anyway :) could look at that fucking abortion of
a nose job on the last Magna and think there'd be more than ten people in
the country who were not legally blind that would like it.
Blaming the designer was bullshit. The person who ultimately approved it for
production should have been sumarily executed.

Only someone who owns one could suggest that.
To the rest of us, a 30 megatonne nuclear blast couldn't detract from it in
any way :)

You need your eyes checked. It's fucking *appalling*.

Oh yeah? Like what?

That's exactly what they did.
Sales of the Magna (which were never brilliant) dropped of dramatically when
the last ugly duckling arrived, and they couldn't wait to get the 380 out to
get away from it. They even dropped the "Magna" name to distance themselves
from the debacle of the last Magna model.
Still, the irony of course is that the stupid cunts thought a rehash of a
tired old unpopular American car would make Australian buyers piss their
pants in excitement, but it resulted in the embarrassing situation of
selling less 380's than they did the last ugly Magna that they were
desperately trying to get away from.
Still, you've got to give MMAL's management team credit where it's due. If
you actually *tried* to run a car company that poorly it'd probably be quite
hard to do :)
