Doesn't look like an XF to me.

Perhaps a visit to your local OPSM tomorrow morning will rectify your
problem.

Good luck with that.

Yeah but it went like one. ;-)

It surely did.

Nothing like a 1500kg car with a 120kw engine to give you a dose of the
"boring ju-jits" :)

If you get hit by one perhaps...

Or perhaps you're easily impressed?

Looks like another celebration of blandness to me.

Would be a racing car compared to the 3.3 litre 6 with 3 on the tree. :-)
But then again VB-VK Commodores with the 202 6 has the same acceleration
as the queen Mary. :-)

120kw was the injected donk yes?.

Mate had an '87 S pac with the injected 250 and 5 speed box. Was actually
quite a nice ride. Until some c*nts ripped it off and flogged the shit out
of it.

He sold it not long after he got it back.

Think so, but can't remember exactly now. The carb version was a fair bit
less if I remember correctly.

I've got an old XF ute, which is a total heap of shit and nothing other than
a motorised wheelbarrow to me. It's done over 500k km's, rough as guts but
runs okay and is pretty reliable. You can't beat the things if you want
cheap reliable transport.

Especially if you don't care how flash (or not) it may be.

Yeah, but it still suffers from the problem Ford has in trying to sell
any sort of Falcon at the moment, which is that you can go out and buy
a slightly used one and pocket about $20-25k in change.

I remember driving a mate's 3.3 litre 3 speed VH back when we were P
platers and thos sorts of things were still fairly good cars for the
money...I remember it being very very slow and having very heavy non-
power steering. A brilliant car it wasn't :)

96kW is a figure that comes to mind, for some reason.

The XF 4.1 carb had 103kW, increased from the 98kW of the XE. The 3.3 (carb only) was 90kW. I believe the 3.3 had 240Nm (urrgghh), while the 4.1 carb had about 310Nm, and the fuel injected one 320Nm. This is just from memory though.

The performance was better than you'd think, though, especially if you used only moderate throttle openings and didn't expect it to rev past about 4000rpm. Plenty of low down torque meant they got off the line ok (though still poor overall compared to a modern unit).

I had a really ratty old 86 fairmont for a few months, with the injected 4.1. It was ok until it blew the head gasket. I didn't bother trying to fix it, just sold it off (and got all but about 400 bucks of the original cost back anyway).

I reckon the 4.1 carb would be the one to get. Apparently much easier to work on (Noddy?).
