I know where there is one rotting away, has no engine however, can't see

So what on earth would a Falcon offer over either of those cars?

Memories of when the guys buying them were young and those cars ruled

They were a very fast car in their day and genuine GTHO's are very rare.
they didn't build many but I agree the prices being paid for them are
insane.

Yeah, right.

I'm sure Tassie is just loaded with people driving around in worn out
original phase III's :)

I know you wouldn't know the difference between a GTHO and a regular Falcon
if someone pounded both fair up your arse for you to taste test.

Think "investment". There's few cars in the world where that applies, but
these are obviously one.

It has fuck all to do with what the car *drives* like.

You'd think so.

Still, I remember when that was being said about a few genuine Bugatti
limo's, and the last I heard one sold at auction for 42 million bucks.

The humble old Phase III has some way to go yet :)

They may have a ferrari on higher pruchase, but in australia they are
short lived, sold at ballon value, seen it at least 20-30 times.

Its possible to own one for a few weeks, and loose 30k on resale, people
do this also.
They do not appeciate cars, just own them cause everyone say's they are
good,same with a Phase 3,but I might add,Australians would certainly be
silly enough to sell the house and live with their partents for a phase 3.

Yeah they were good,14.9 sec quarter about as fast as my little sisters
front wheel drive rice bubble...lol.
They were all so a dime a dozen,I recall $2000 would get a genuine GTHO,
and that was later on in the mid 90's.
I used to drag them all the time in my mazda,as they were the best
benchmark to pull against, cause they were the fastest.

14.2 for the Phase II actually, but don't get hung up on accuracy.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of car does your sister drive that can do
low 14 second quarters *and* top out at near 165 miles per hour?

> They were all so a dime a dozen,I recall $2000 would get a genuine GTHO,

Sure :)

The cheapest price I've ever heard *anyone* pay for a genuine GTHO was 2800
bucks, and that was by the bloke who bought *mine* about 20 years ago. I was
tired of it, wanted it gone and the bloke waved the cash under my nose at
the right time. Of course, I'll be kicking myself in the arse for the rest
of my life for selling it when I look at what they bring today, but that's
my bad luck.

2000 bucks wouldn't buy you a set of mangled compliance plates in the mid
'90's, let alone a genuine car.

I don't know what planet you're from originally, but it must be a real hoot.

The last one I heradof I almost threw up,It had never been
polished.....oh my...some people...the mainlanders were apparently
drooling over it,and could not wait to get some wet and dry on it after
forcing the check with lot's of zero's down the owners throat.

There really is not much difference, not enough to really care about, you
obviously do.

If you are looking for that phase 3,he wears a flouro orange vest and
works for the garbage collection.
hes the guy that jumps off the truck and grabs the recycle bin from
outside houses.

Of course it's an investment, but that doesn't answer my question about the
why the cars are so highly valued in the first place.

Crap.

Bullshit, by the 90's a genuine HO was worth a hell of a lot more than
$2000.00.

Yours or any Mazda wouldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding, your

Got the details?

These things aren't changing hands everyday, and the GT Falcon registry will
know about it.
