DVD Region

I am interested in buying a DVD but the problem is I can only buy it from overseas and is only available in region 1 and 2 formats, my DVD player is region 4 the question I have is if I buy the DVD and I burn it on my computer will that cancel the region zone so I can play it on my DVD player or won't that work? Can I change my player to accept all regions ?

Its a SONY DAV-BC150/BC250

Not familiar with that particular model but almost all Sony units sold in Australia are already region free out of the box, you could copy the disc and remove the region setting, not legal though even if you do own the disc, if all else fails you can buy a new region free player for $30

My player has a region 4 symble on the back,so I don't know if that is locked to region 4, I will give it a go, a DVD isnt very expensive so it may work and if not I can buy a region free player as you said, thanks for getting back to me.

All Sony DVD players will have that symbol regardless, they are set region free after they leave the factory but before they are delivered to retailers
