Have found that apparently section 2.2.2 of AS2890 Part 5 deals with parallel
on-street parking bay dimensions. Now to find a copy of that section without
having to shell out >$50 for the whole standard.

Councils with fees for parking allocate less space per bay than
councils not possessed of the ability to blackmail motorists re parking.
The capers first major effect was when 'reverse' parking became a
compulsory subject in city licence tests. And that's why.
Standard GovCo theft is what it's all about.
My favourite is the scumbag councils that actually approve new
buildings without off street parking for the occupiers, let alone
customers of, and visitors to, these places.
Breathtaking.
As for the Australian Standards Scammers - that mob urgently require
dog-fucking.

Arhh yeah,It all well and good I would suggest, cause in this day and age
it just reduces the business prospects for the business owner.
Adds a bit of location location back into it.
I have to admit, these days,I just drive past and go elsewhere if there
is no parking near a shop.
Once it would have been unheard of doing this,I recon they are injecting
me with those drugs in the middle of the night again.
I am being brainwashed with out knowing...
It has gone victoria town planning down here in Tassie
All new buildings have to have 11 or 7(I forget) car parking spots and
one disabled,be sealed and marked clearly.
Silly really, the price of fuel is going up and they are suggesting we
will run out of oil.
Fantastic move by the gov co as more people are about to start walking.
More waste,more money.
Funny how there is shitloads of oil left.
