Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has one of these units and has been experiencing problems when starting up.
Our unit is only about 3 months old. Initially when we first got it when you first switch it on it takes just a little while to "warm up" before it is ready to use.
Well about 4 weeks ago I have been experiencing issues. When the unit has been turned off for a long period of time usually overnight;when I turn it on it makes the most horrid noise that lasts anywhere from 30 seconds to even longer. It is a loud whirring noise that sounds like the unit is trying to read from the dvd player is the only thing I can think of to describe it. Sometimes it stops by itself and is ready to play but other times I have to switch it off and back on to make it stop. If I do this then it takes about 10 seconds or so and then it is right to play. (Once again making the noise)
I rang the repair agent in town who said that it is not unusual for Panasonic units to do this. However it wasn't doing it from the start and has been getting progressively worse to the point where I have to leave the unit turned on. They said that if I was that concerned to bring it in. Also they stated that Panasonic have a really slow turnaround to getting parts if it needs to be fixed. Has anyone experienced this issues as well?
