Hi all. I did a search first but couldnt come up with my answer.
I just got a Highlander dvx 4533 player from directdeals. I needed an upgrade from my old machine which had had it.
my question is. I have been playing with disks and it seems that the highlander doesnt recognise many types of divx movies? (what it does recognize does work fine so dont think its a problem player). its just the different avi, divx, mp4 that it doesnt read)
is there an upgrade for it and if so where?
thanks
Lee

Ok this is what seems to be happening.
say i burn a few eps. of a tv show, then I burn another ep. on at a later date.
ONLY the the first lot of burnt shows will show up on the menu.
cans someone please tell me how to get around or fix this please.

Multisession discs are not supported, this is normal.

i have had a few shows that play sound 100% but the picture is is like slow-mo. its not the divx player settings, so was wondering if there is a good program to convert to a different file type to play on the Highlander?

If you are saying the picture staggers .... I would suggest its a packed bitstream and you need to unpack it before burning and playing it.
There is a free app that does this but I can't recall the name as I haven't needed to use it for a while.
If you're lucky Jok11n or Andw will read this and remind us.
Cheers

Ok so what do i do with this program or what am i looking for?
Mpeg4modifier - (needs .Net on your pc)
Basically run the program, open the avi file, tick Unpack bitstream and save the file.
If you want to unpack the bitstream on a bunch of files at once have a look for another utility called UnpackCL-shell.
(this is a gui version of UnpackCL)
Anyway, you can point to a folder and it will check each file and unpack if necessary.

it was already unpacked, so i tried pack and still had jerky pic and proper sound.
weird stuff
is there anything else I could try?
btw thanks for your help
Try a programme called "Gspot" to find out what encoders were used etc.
(also you can get some of this information from mpeg4modifier)
