Im useing Windows XP Pro, in Perth Australia, to set the local time, I use
Date and Time Properties, Time Zone,

Then I have to select from the drop downlist
(GMT-08.00) Pacific Time (US & Canada); Tijuana.

This seems to be the only way I can get my computer to display the correct local time for Perth Australia....

If I select Perth from the list it advances the time my computer displays and is 15 hrs a head the correct local time.

I think this may be the reason my emails ( I use Thunderbird) display the wrong times they have been sent to me.

I Know for me it should be GMT+0800 not GMT -800 and I know I can change the clock manually, But Im wondering how I can reset the Time zones so they display the right time for Australia.

Any ideas

Thanks

ThanksXP says its time zone for Perth is +8 on GMT. it swings this post back from 1:31 am to 11:31 am. Which is Perth time.

My clock however is synchronised with GMT. Perhaps you need to do the same. (under the 'internet time' tab)

I know this may be a bit late, but this maybe some useful info.

Once you've booted Windows XP, in your case, you actually have two clocks on your system:

System Time
Windows Clock

The widnows clock is obvious what your looking at, but the system clock is the clock in the BIOS/motherboard.

If your system clock is set "local time" and you choose GMT+8 Perth in the Windows clock, then your your going 7 or 8 hours ahead depending on daylight savings.

Hope helps :D
If your system clock is set to GMT, then Windows is set to GMT+8 Perth, then you will get the correct time, assuming the daylight savings options is correct also.
