Hi everyone.
My wife purchased an AWA DP644 DVD player from Big W.
It's a typical cheap but versatile Chinese-made player
(though not DivX).
But it's set to Region 4.
There's sure to be a region-free hack.
But I couldn't find this model online.
Can anyone help?
Cheers,
Paul

If no one can help, Ask Big-W or anywhere else that sells them.

Hi
I have this model of player. Are you sure it is locked t Region 4 as mine apears to have been Region free out of the box but had a sticker on that said it was Region 4 locked. The only thing I did was tried thease processes a friend at work gave me.

1) Make sure the there is no disc in the tray and that it's closed.
2) Type in "1379" on the "Preferences" page
3) A box will come up allowing you to change the Region code from "4" to "0".

1) Make sure the there is no disc in the tray and that it's closed
2) Press setup
3) Press next, stop, pause/step, prev, next
You should now see a menu go to select region and choose 0
They didn't appear to work but after a Region 1 disc worked fine in my player . hope this helps

:confused: hi i jst need to know why people are saying that the region should be on the back or under the dvd player if you cant find the book for it. well theres not much in writing on the back of the player but how do you recognise what the region is when you cant even find the word region on it???

I emailed AWA Australia for the code - AWA DP644 DVD Player

Changing Region Code:-
-> Press EJECT/OPEN button (disk door open)
-> Press the number "1369"
-> Press the region code that you require ("0" for multi region)
-> Press OK.

Hi guys I'm new to this so bare with me.
I'm looking for some help with finding the region free code for a new Sony Blu-Ray DVD player - Sony BDPS300. Someone suggested going back to the store where I got it and checking with them which I will try but I'm not hopeful. Any other suggestions???
