BLATANTLY BURNING CARBON
... Concerts in Sydney, Tokyo, Johannesburg, Shanghai, Hamburg, London, New Jersey
and Rio de Janeiro.

... A hoped-for audience of two billion.

... 6,000 parties in 119 countries.

... Saturation coverage from TV, radio, and the internet.

... 150 acts.

... 60 short films, 30 public service announcements, and a book.

Consider the vast carbon footprint of Live Earth, during which the world's most
indulgent people - rock stars - will demand that their followers pledge to "take
personal action to help solve the climate crises by reducing my own C02
pollution as much as I can."

Has Live Earth performer Keith Urban sold his Bentleys yet? (Actually, merely
selling those 12-cylinder babies won't reduce C02 emissions; he must destroy
them.) I've been trying to come up with a violently destructive Gaia-raping
stunt for us to participate in on Live Earth day, but it is literally impossible
for even several thousand non-millionaires to match Live Earth's own level of
eco-vandalism while remaining within their means and the law.

We've been out-carboned by Big Environmentalism. There's simply no way we can
come close to matching the colossal carbon output of Gore and his musical mates.
But it's not as though Live Earth is grotesquely, hypocritically excessive, oh
no; as executive producer Keith Wall explains:

Most artists are coming from nearby areas. Madonna, for example, lives in
London and will be performing at Wembley.

And once at Wembley - a tiny village green, I believe - Madonna's acoustic
performance will be enjoyed by 200 vegans, all of whom live within five miles
and travel by mule. As for Gore himself, he'll be at the New Jersey show. Again,
Wall explains:

We don't want him getting on planes burning carbon.

Regards

Bonzo

Nice idea:
1 million of live visitors, 2 billions of TV viewers worldwide.

Very nice!

That's *the* mega music event of the millennium - or even
the second important event after the trumpets of Jericho.

But why is there this little but abiding doubt gnawing right behind
the pituitary?
Why do I see endless tour trucks, carting the equipment for the
different stages around the world ?
Why di I see a lot of private jets flying around with famous
international artists?
Why do I see those artists cruising around with luxury cars, vans
or rover vehicles?
Why do I always imagine how many vessels, generators, machines,
and so on, those 120 TV and broadcasting stations would need to
transmit this event?
How do the spectators travel to this event?
Who clears away all the waste of 1 million live visitors after the concert?
And what do they do with all that trash?

Of course, Live Earth will not contribute to GW...
..... ok, it will accelerate GW about half a year or so...
..... and under the premise, that all 2 billion viewers worldwide
don't eat flatulent meals.

No, really... Live Earth for climate protecting ... groovy!

It's something like Paul Bocuse presents mouth-watering
petit-fours recipes against starvation - Live from Ethiopia!

Won't they have to plant a few billion trees?

I was hoping to see bears riding unicycles.
