For those who are interested, I noticed today that the July 2007 issue
of Choice magazine reviews 107cm TVs, testing 12 flatscreens under
$3000. A variety of plasma, LCD and rear projection are covered.
(While I'm not much interested in LCDs is the brand "Regal" well known?)
Anyway, by their rankings, which were decided by picture quality, sound
quality, ease of use, standby energy, the LG 42PC1DG-AA came top.
I cant speak for the other models tested, but the Hitachi included in
the review is the 42DP00DTA, which while still around, hasn't been
considered current for a few months. I'm guessing leadtime from testing
to publication is a while, and apart from the motorised stand, and USB
photo and SD card slot is pretty much the same as the 960, which is
still available now.
Cheers,
