sd set top box hook up

hello every one..i hope someone can help i need it. i have the tv dvd player
5.1 ch amplifier all hooked up and working ok. now i want to add a sd set top box without messing up whats now set up. how do i hook it up i am using rca cables no s video..tia..col.melbourne..

I just added a SD set top box to my setup, which is similar to yours, and it only took a few minutes.

Basically, everything should run through your amplifier. So connect your dvd player and TV to the amplifier. On the amp there should be a RCA labelled 'monitor out' which will connect to your tv. The set top box will connect via rca on the amp, so audio will go through the amplified speakers and picture will display on the tv.

skitz,thanks for your reply my sansui 5.1 amp and tuner have no provision for monitor. but a friend told me a easier way to install it and leave everything the way it is.all i had to do is set up the dtb to av2 that way i leave the dvd player hooked up to av1.my tv has 2 sets of av plugs av1 and av2 at the back of tv so when i want to watch a dvd i go to av1 then i go to av2 for tv and stb everything is ok now.thanks again..col..:)
