Hey Guys,
I'm thinking of getting a Playstation 3 or an Xbox 360. However, i'm more into budget wise so that's why i'm thinking of getting a 360. However, i've heard a lot of bad stuff with the so called 'red circle' and it's quite scary. However, i want to get a Playstation 3 since it's got a blue ray player and i heard that it's excellent. Lastly i want to get it because of the games...it seems like that the Xbox 360 has better games...with stuff like dead or alive 4, gears of wars and stuff like that...

TBH i would get a wii. The games are coming and its for people on a budget. But if it was to be between the 360 and ps3 i would go for the 360 as the "red circle" is supposed to of been fixed in the elite and new consoles so really it only applies for second hand ones. (But i would still buy the extended warranty :p ) The ps3's only uppity is that it has blu-ray and really if you are getting a ps3 just for that i think it is sad as really there is no problems with DVD until it lowers to a resonable price. Really there is not much of a idffrence between DVD and blu-ray that justifies getting a ps3.
Also anything that is "exclusive" on ps3 is usually a timed exclusive (meaning they hold exclusivity for 6 monnths or so) and then it comes to the 360.
***Cough*** Virtua Fighter 5 ***Cough***
Plus you will find that the 360 actually has online for Virtua fighter 5 unlike ps3.

PS3 for blu-ray is a worthy option. If your a film junkie you want films looking as best as they can, and blu-ray provides this option.
It'll all depend on what you want games wise. 360 has more at the moment, who knows in 12-18 months. I like option of region free on games on the PS3, so I can feast on North American Sports and releases. Both consoles have their merits.
I'd avoid the Wii. Its a gimmick console. Once the novelty wears off (which for me was 4 hours of gaming) your left with nothing much.

The PS3 certainly sounds like a top machine and I'd love to have one, but the initial costs to get one and a few games is way out of my budget, just like you I'd say. :)
I have no experience with the Wii, but some of the games look fun and I'd think that the novelty of the controllers shouldn't wear off once you have a few different games and if you rent games to switch things up a bit.
The 360 is a good option due to its reasonably large library of games and the amount of games that have dropped in price or can be bought second hand for well under half the original asking price of $100.00+. There are a lot of good games out there for well under $40.00 - $50.00 now. You can get some good games for 20 odd dollars in bargain bins and as second hand these days.
If you keep an eye out for deals, you can get a 1 year Xbox Live subscription for $69.00 (Target had it for $49.00 this past week) and that gives you unlimited online play to your games which gives them so many more hours of playing time and a bit of a different playing experience and you are also able to download and play demos of all their games as well as access to trailers for free and have access to revamped arcade games (which do cost extra though).
Yeah, the 3 red rings of death is a worry, but the amount of people having no problem easily outweighs the amount of people who do and Microsoft have officially extended the warranty for this to 3 years from purchase.
For someone with a budget in mind, I'd say that the Xbox 360 is the way to go at this very moment. :)

If you really want a Blu-Ray player and free online, go PS3.
Any other sense would say go to the 360.
...assuming you don't want a wii ;)

Stand alone Blu-Ray players cost as much as a PS3 any way, so PS3 would be a better investment if you're after a Blu-Ray. PS3 has much more to give graphics wise than the 360, but as with all Sony consoles, they suffer from crappy little kiddies controllers, they're not made for man's hands.;)

I agree on the graphics point and is that the 360 is really when you look at it is 2 years old when the ps3 is only 8 months old. Really though i again don't think a $500 price diffrence is worth just that slightly better graphics.
