He has a proven record over a number of years, certainly a track
record that is better than all the unproven AFL coaches out there
(Voss, Ratten, McKenna etc), and his record would stand up against any
of the proven coaches (Daniher, Connolly, Laidley, Pagan)
It seems to me that the essendon board has just decided it is time. To
me and I could be wrong but
1: His message cant get old when you keep renewing the list.
2: He hasnt forgotten how to coach.
3: If they dont have someone that is at least as good or better why
replace him.
4: He must have rubbed up the board the wrong way
Beats me, but he looks like a ready made replacement for Fremantle, in
fact it would be a real coup for them.

Listen to the press conference, they went into it in detail.

Yeah, I think he'd be mad to coach again and risk tainting his legacy.
He should either look for a non-coaching position (I'd love to see him
return to Richmond, but not as coach) or try for Demetriou's job.

*shrugs*
I don't think he'd be willing to take a new coaching job so quickly,
anyway. I've liked how various Essendon sides have carried
themselves over the past decade; it doesn't leap to mind as a fit,
though.

Nearly anyone would be a excellent replacement for Demetriou.
