View Full Version : Which Car Does This Badge Belong To?

A friend picked up this badge at auction. I'm not sure if it came from a car or not.
Does anyone recognize it?
Thanks.

It fits onto the boot lid of a Corvette.

Or perhaps from a "gay" car: "I require assistance with my movements"?

Car badges of this type would normally depict a chequered flag. I'm
betting it's something nautical.

The Corvette badges featured a chequered flag, none of that nautical stuff.

I'm thinking Triumph Herald as well, on the side just forward of the rear
fin. Can't seem to find any pics of Heralds with the badge though, maybe
only on some models, or maybe they all fell off. It was Bill Tuckey, well
known Aussie motoring journalist at the time, who said that a Herald needed
an extra rear view mirror to keep track of the bits falling off :-).

**About a million years ago, one of my mates arrived at tech, a little
worse for wear, but otherwise ok. His bike (a Yammy 650 twin) was a
little worse than him, but it was well and truely able to be ridden. A
few dents, a slightly buckled front wheel and a fair amount of missing
paintwork. Apparently, he rear ended a Triumph Herald on the way to
tech. The Triumph needed to be towed............... It was a write-off.
