Panasonic DMR-EX85 Recording gone strange

I have had the DMR-EX85 for some time now and no real problems until last week when I went away for the week and recorded some shows but ended up with nothing but the face of a child from somewhere frozen onto all of the shows I had recorded.

The properties information shows that they were recorded for the appropriate time on the requested channel etc but no sound and only the face of the child...

I even copied a recording to a DVD disc to see if anything could be retrieved but to no avail.

I have recorded programmes since my return and no trouble with these.

I am curious how this might have come about and it looks like I have lost a few shows I would have liked to look at.

Any thoughts??

Sounds like it had locked up and you had recorded the image that it was locked up on at the time.

Perhaps a good idea to do a master reset, rescan your channels, reset all your settings etc
