OMNI DVD PLAYERS DV3300 & DV3200P TIPS
The new DV3300D and DV3200P may still have parental lock password
set.
The default password for DV3300D is 3308 (like the 3102 & 3003).
For 3200P password is 1999, however because the default setting is set on
"no restriction" there shouldn't be any problems.
DV3300
Some units are being sent back as faulty with descriptions " no picture and no sound". What has happened the end user is changing the video output settings from Default Composite (RGB) to Component video, hence loosing their display.
All that needs to be done is to hook the video cable up to the top jack of the component video output, and then you'll get a black and white picture and then go back into the setup and change the settings back to Composite video (RGB).
DV3200P
This will help clarify some confusion over the stereo settings of the new DV-3200P model.
On this new model the stereo output and 5.1Ch surround sound output are in fact separated. However you still need to set the DVD's speaker output to output through 2 speakers only. By default the player is setup to be 5.1Ch output.
The solution is quite simple. Just go to the menu, and under "speaker" option, turn the "centre" and "surround" and / or "subwoofer) speakers options to <off>, it should automatically Downmix the sound to stereo sound for the customer.
The fact you plugged the TV into the separate 2 ch output doesn't downmix the sound automatically.

I not sure whether it will work for all XMS DVD players, but this is what I used.
1. First open the player's tray, make sure it is empty.
2. Press 3, 3, 0, 8 on the remote control,followed by 0 (region free number)
3. Close the player's tray.
4. Use the remote control and not the buttons on the player.
If it does not work, try again. If it fails again. You might have to try something else. Good luck.

worth mentioning that the last digit entered sets the region, 0 for all region or 1 for region 1, 2 for 2 etc, which is handy if you have rce discs which expect to see zone specific info. Also on the xms models the code can be entered from the front panel, doesn't have to be from the remote. Also for the older xms750 uses a different code, although there wouldn't be too many of these around which haven't been done already (the early one was macro free out of the box) The xms150 can be made macro free quite easily, very small file needs to burnt to disc, put it in the drive and it's all done in about a minute.

I realise this thread is old, however I just imported a region 2 disc from Germany and needed to modify my XMS 1050 region code. The above info worked a treat first time.
Thanks for posting the info.
