Completely agree with you. Just look at the flat cap that the lead singer
wears... I mean can you get any more British than that?

Luky for him I was in a good mood, or I might have really let him have it.

God help anyone who crosses me for a while.
Just had a rather chilling session with my Dr. I've been told to change
lifestyle, de-stress and lose weight or I will be checking out - full
stop, no ifs or buts.
Not that there is anything particularly wrong with my existing
lifestyle, or that my employment is particularly stressing, or even
that I am particularly overweight (although shedding 10kgs or so would
not go astray) - down to a lousy set of inherited genes.
Fuck I'm pissed off atm.

speaking of which - I don't think my emails are getting through again -
let me know if they haven't (I've sent 2 I think) .
In other news - 2nd gear was what stopped working if I recall correctly?
I had a look at the trans (since the pan was off) and unless you've
moved it yourself, the pipe going to the kickdown band's servo has blown
out of the valve body. It's harder to tell due to the shape/design of
the later pipes, but it's definitely out more than it should be, and
probably flexes more under pressure.
that'd cause it (as the band itself and the servo are relatively intact.

Mustn't be, as I haven't got anything.
> In other news - 2nd gear was what stopped working if I recall correctly?
It was second, but it's been that long since I drove it (and I only drove it
once) that I can't remember if second was completely dead or just flaring
like crazy.

The only thing I did to it was take the pan off so I could remove the
kickdown cable.

I should have taken the time to look myself, as I said it looked like it had
been a reco at some stage.
Any money bet now that I'll finish fucking around with my ute and the auto
will shit itself 3 days later :)

For real, or was it the "standard" Doctor lecture?

No, got the "time to take it seriously" lecture 10 years ago. Today it
was the "if you aren't prepared to fundamentally change life, work and
habits - put your affairs in order".
What happened to the telephone guy is a bit close to the bone.
I've been reading all about hypertension on the Internet and yes it
would appear I am a excellent candidate to "stroke out", on the other
hand, I might be at risk of dying by mis-print - I'm going to go back
and see the bugger again tomorrow to clarify a few things.

Fair enough.
