It is a very balanced and even review. There is certainly
nothing unfair about it.

Fair dinkum, if Serialpest posted that the moon is purple he'd get 100
replies from all the troll feeders in here correcting him.
Newsflash: HE KNOWS HE'S WRONG

It certainly is unfair! Everyone knows the 380 was designed to sit in
Mitsubishi showrooms, not to be driven on actual roads.

Not too bad, but when you can buy the same car without the VRX front
spoiler for $32K driveaway........
Interesting that they compare a car with $5500 worth of extras in
leather and satnav for $36K with an XR6 without those add ons

Making it $41.5K . An XR6 Turbo is $42,990. Not a lot in it.

I guess that what they are saying is that, even with the extras, the VRX is
not good value for money when compared to the XR6 turbo.
Sounds pretty accurate to me.

There is your mistake right there. You cannot directly compare Mitsubishi
values with those of any other manufacturer's product unless you normalise
them first.
You have to adjust up the Mitsubishi price to account for the higher
probability of premature failure of paint, engine, powertrain, brakes and
wheels. This is in addition to the higher than industry standard
depreciation rate.

They were doing exactly what you did when comparing the 380 to the base
model Liberty. A value comparison rather than a configuration one.
Oddly enough, as far as you're concerned it's only wrong when someone else
does it :)
