View Full Version : 3 wheelers anyone?

These pomme 3-wheelers (a bit like a "Trike" with an enclosed cabin) get
around 80 to 100 mpg, top speed up to 130kph and 0 to 100kph in 16 secs (a
bit slowish). Not a touring car, but for a town get-about, safer than a
motor-bike.
Wonder what the cornering dynamics would be like with this beasty? Assume
front-wheel drive.

Nope, rear wheel drive through rear live axle. Cornering dynamiacs not too
good, have you watched "Mr Bean"? he hates that blue Reliant van that shows
up on some of the episodes, they seem to be quite easy to tip up.

Ahh, they are rear wheel drive, fair enough.
I saw a segment on the "CI" pay-TV channel called "Road wars". It was pomme
"traffic-police reality" show and these coppers were pursuing a Reliant
Robin thru the maze of back-streets in Oxford. Believe it or not, the 3
wheeler did a good job of eluding the copper's Astra (or whatever it was).
Must admit, travelling at 80 mph is not something I'd take on in one tho.
Mr Bean has moved on to a Reliant from his Mini :-)

Reliant...
Reminds me of a Young Ones moment:
"BALOWSKI: Your a right little five speed gearbox aren't you.
Here'y'are, Tell you what, right, Tell you what, come outside, Ill give
you part-ex on a Reliant, right.
MIKE: Reliant eh?, I'll just get my coat. Reliant? Thats a three
wheeler, innit?
BALOWSKI: Usually, yeah yeah yeah"
