TELSTRA'S regional general manager, Ian Peters, will be in Bega to help
people make the transition from the CDMA network to Next G.
"I do not want any of my customers to be disadvantaged when the CDMA network
disappears on January 28," Mr Peters said.
He said his staff were happy to talk to people who were still experiencing
problems with their Next G handsets.
"What many people don't realise is that they need a Next G handset to get
the full benefit of the Next G network - 2G handsets are not good enough,"
he said.
"these phones are not mix and matachable.
"We are building three new towers between Bega and Narooma, one on the Brown
Mountain and at Timbillica below Eden.
"We will build one at Tura Beach when we eventually get council approval,"
he said.
Mr Peters will be in the Bega Retravision store tomorrow (Wednesday) or
customers can phone 6219 2933 for help and advice.
