What other company uses one government to undercut the subsidies provided
by another government? Gunns produces plantation timber that is 100%
cost-subsidised by every Australian taxpayer, but they have worked-out how
to double-dip on this handout by forcing Forestry Tasmania to 'give away'
native forest at a price per tonne that is cheaper than firewood and
cheaper than their own plantation timber.
