Yeah, so!? When will the new 9000ES series be released? Now that HDMI 1.3a
has pretty well solved most compatibility issues surely they can't be too
far away?

I'm looking for a new "flagship" receiver that will last at least a couple
of years :-(

Hmmm.... yep the $64,000 question. In about 2012?
It took Sony 10 years to launch the original TA-E9000ES / TA-N9000ES /
TA-P9000ES separates, since their previous incarnation. It will take
another 10 to do the same, assuming they are going to go down the
non-digital power amp path once again.
