Dr Williams and his co. pinko-poofo-commo-greeno mates wonder why their
flock is disappearing. They wonder why, for the first time in 400
years, their are more Catholic churchgoers than CofE in England.

I received a leaflet in the post two days ago from my local CofE vicar,
one Rev. Cranfield of Blackheath parish. It had nothing about true
spirituality or morality; instead it was filled with bullshit about
global warming.

My wife is Anglican and has suggested that we attend the occasional Mass
in order to be more involved with the local community. As I said to
her, there's more chance of me turning up to a Hare Krishna temple than
stand and listen to some pontificating commo wanker preaching vacuous
environazi bullshit at us from his pullpit.

Ex Shell chairman calls for gas guzzler ban: report Mon Feb 4, 4:55 PM ET

LONDON (AFP) - The former chairman of Anglo-Dutch oil giant Shell has called
on
the European Union to ban gas-guzzling cars, saying they are unnecessary,
the
BBC reported Monday.

"Nobody needs a car that does 10-15 mpg (miles per gallon, 19-28 litres per
100
kilometres)," Mark Moody-Stuart was quoted as saying.

"We need very tough regulation saying that you can't drive or build
something
less than a certain standard. You would be allowed to drive an Aston
Martin --
but only if it did 50-60 mpg."

Moody-Stuart, who is currently chairman of mining group Anglo American,
added
that the EU was too lax with motor manufacturers and insisted that wealthier
people must play their part in tackling climate change.
He was chairman of Shell between 1998 and 2001.

the creation of millions of tonnnes of it.

George Bush needs as much Opium grown as possible, for without Opium
Producetion Bush would be even more of a loser than he is today.

And he is already the Laughing Stock of the Entire World.

Tut, tut, tut, my friend.
But the correct word from the original quotation is "opiate".
Look up the quote and verify!
I believe it was Karl "Have-I-Got-A-Socialism-For You" Marx.

Secret Service, U.S. intel say Bush uses cocaine, Prozac, alcohol

Federal agents question out-of-control White House operating "under the
influence" while continuing historical pattern of untested drug usage at
highest levels places presidents above the law, jeopardizing the safety of
all Americans

by Tom Flocco

Washington-November 17, 2005-TomFlocco.com-Secret Service members attached
to White House domestic security, FBI and CIA agents, and written national
security field reports all confirm that President Bush has been using drugs
which could be affecting his performance as the nation's war-time
commander-in-chief.

Multiple federal agents having direct knowledge and access to Bush's medical
records say the President has switched from using Ritalin to taking Prozac
while also succumbing to periodic alcoholic binges which have led to tirades
and explosive personal conduct among White House aides, absent required
random drug testing of all public employees and elected officials.

Federal law enforcement agents have at different times witnessed President
Bush doing lines of cocaine in the early morning hours at the White House
and drinking straight shots of whiskey in the evening hours on other
occasions, according to U.S. intelligence sources who confirm multiple
stories appearing in the tabloid press which say the First Lady is assigned
to "keep an eye on him."

Bush's alleged conduct raises serious questions as to what effect the
chemicals are having on his oval office decision-making, and why Democrats
and Republicans facing coming voter backlash-while undoubtedly having heard
the whispers-are failing to call for the release of Bush's medical records
for bipartisan congressional scrutiny.

Legislators have also failed to ask Bush to submit to drug-testing when they
required President Clinton to submit to similar tests to confirm a match of
his DNA with spots found on Monica Lewinsky's blue dress-a matter of far
less consequence to U.S. national security than the effects of Mr. Bush's
alleged ongoing chemical dependency.

And a WIKI :-

And this :-

......states :-

A quick correction is in order. Marx said that religion was the "opium"
of the people, not the "opiate". This is important because opium was one
of the most widely used drugs that people had access to. It was good for
anything that hurt not to mention diareaha. It was considered medicine,
not a horribly addictive drug that ruined lives and families.

Marx also said something along the line that religion was the heart of a
heartless world and the soul of a soul-less world. When he compared it
to opium, he did not mean that it was a quack nostrum or that it had no
place. He simply saw the many horrible effects of the industrial
revolution-- child labor, early death from bad working conditions,
people being turned out to starve when they lost their jobs, people
being divorced from the land-- and he recognized that religion was where
they were turning for solace.

But in general, I share the opinion regarding preachers of every flavor.
Robert Heinlein (or one of his characters) said it best, something along
the line of: "Every shaman should be considered guilty until proven
innocent."

What Marx _wrote_ is "opium".

Marx made his famous observation in his "Critique of the Hegelian
Philosophy of Right" (1844)

http://www3.baylor.edu:80/~Scott_Moore/texts/Marx_Opium.html

This is the quote in question....

"Religious suffering is, at one and the same time, the expression of real
suffering and a protest against real suffering. Religion is the sigh of the
oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless
conditions. It is the opium of the people."

If you're not happy with that...

"Religion... is the opium of the people."
